Would you like to pay income tax during the year or receive a monthly refund in advance? A provisional tax assessment can help you arrange this. I can apply for, check or update one for you.
You can also contact me if you have received an assessment you do not understand or that no longer reflects your circumstances.
When can it be useful?
A provisional assessment may be relevant if you own a home, have several sources of income or receive income on which no tax has been withheld. Deductions, such as certain donations or spousal maintenance payments, may also affect the calculation.
I review your expected income and deductions, explain the estimated tax payment or refund and assess whether an application or update would be useful.
An estimate that needs to stay up to date
A provisional assessment is based on an estimate. The amounts you have paid or received are taken into account when your final income tax is calculated.
If your working hours, mortgage or income change, it may be sensible to update the assessment. This reduces the risk of an unexpected additional payment later.
Have your assessment reviewed
Briefly explain what you would like to arrange or why you are unsure about your current assessment. I will discuss the required information and costs with you. Before I submit the request, you will see the calculation and be asked to approve it.
