Does a tax assessment differ from your figures? Have you received an additional assessment or another decision that raises questions? I can review what has happened and assess whether an objection would be worthwhile.
You can ask for a review even if I did not prepare your original return or manage your bookkeeping.
How can I help?
I examine the assessment or decision, the relevant return and the supporting records. We then discuss which points can be challenged and which arguments and documents are needed.
If an objection is the right approach, I help prepare a reasoned notice and submit it after your approval. Sometimes correcting a return or making a different request is more appropriate. I will explain the options.
Do not wait for the deadline to pass
The objection deadline is generally six weeks. The starting date depends on the assessment, decision or payment being challenged. Please mention the date on the letter and any other deadlines when you contact me.
We also discuss how to handle an outstanding amount and whether a request to defer payment is relevant. Both the objection and the payment position need attention.
Have your situation reviewed
Tell me which tax and period are involved and what concerns you. I will explain the proposed review, possible next steps and costs before starting. You will receive an honest assessment of the options, without a promise of a successful outcome.
